Description

Limpopo Ceramics are made by crafts people from the Limpopo Province in the northern part of South Africa - also know as "The Eden of Africa".  Inspired by the soil beneath their feet and the sun above their heads, the colours and designs of this ceramic range reflect these elements.

The ceramic range  includes bowls, plates, platters and vases to name a few.

Lydia Dercksen and Rita Esterhuyzen met and formed African Art Emporium (Limpopo Ceramics).

In the space of four years we were running a small factory that employed 40 people. Limpopo Ceramics has created job opportunities in a poor community and provides training in the various skills required – potter, painter, moulder, glazer, beader, packer etc. The staff complement is about 70% African and 30% white.

Our handmade, hand painted ceramics are a unique upmarket product painted in a variety of designs and decorated with beads. Our ceramic items can be used decorative or for serving food. Our range includes Vases, Platters, Bread Plates, Fruit Bowls, Serving Bowls, Dinner Services etc. The constantly growing and innovative range of ceramics produced by Limpopo Ceramics is marketed by Rita and is sold by galleries and shops in South Africa, England, United States of America, Australia, Switzerland, France, DRC, Namibia, Kenya, Ivory Coast and Angola. Lodges/Hotels in South Africa, Botswana and Mozambique
