The Braunvieh thrives in the cold Alps of Switzerland, the Kalahari, Karoo and Bushveld. This is a strain that has the ability to adapt to literally any type of veld and to flourish therein. The Braunvieh is a true winner amongst the dual purpose breeds. The Braunvieh has the capacity to add value to any breed it is cross-breeded with. The Braunvieh is a large framed duel- purpose beast that has been developed for the dairy and meat industry at a ratio of 60:40. This strain has a strong, dark pigment that prevents eye cancer from occurring. The Marani Stud occasionally has breeding stock available for sale On 1st March 2003 the Marani Stud bought their first 8 Miniature horses from a stud, which after many years has ceased. Since then more young horses have been purchased and we have been rewarded with our own beautiful foals. Miniature horses are 100% horse, just much smaller. The care for and handling of Miniature horses are exactly the same as for any other bigger horse breed. Miniature horses are well tempered and that makes them wonderful first horses for children. Registered Miniature mares reach a maximum height of about 95cm and the stallions about 90 cm. Basic mares and stallions reach a maximum height of approximately 100 cm.
